Recent Pics

This post is a hodgepodge of events/pictures from the last week.  The sun came out for the first time in many days - something you don't take for granted here.  It was quite glorious actually.  This was the view from my kitchen window.

Last Friday a handful of people decorated the chapel for Christmas.  It's all ready for the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service this coming Friday.  The glow is beautiful at night.

Two days this week I spent in the Sunlight Basin area, a small village of people in the summer and only a handful of people in the winter.  Only an hour away, they have almost no snow and plenty of sunshine!  It was a gorgeous day out there.  Sunlight Basin, along with Crandall, are both communities cut off from Cooke City in the winter due to the road closure.  In order to get there, therefore, I have to snowmobile a portion of the way.  On my way out it was 0 degrees and on my way back it was -6.  That's not much when you're inside, but when you're on a snowmobile, alone, in the mountains... it's a very big deal!

Last night was the annual Christmas Program for the kids of the school here, all six of them.  They did such a good job.  Three are from one family, two from another and one from another.
