Winter is Here!

Yesterday was the winter solstice, the first day of winter.  Currently there is more snow in Cooke City than in probably 99% of other continental U.S. cities, and for two reasons: we get more snow and there is no place to put the snow.  These pictures are not the greatest examples, but they are inklings of what the street of Cooke City looks like.  The highest snow pile is definitely over a second story building, while others are like these, half a story to one and a half stories.

This is dark because I snapped it while in my car heading out of town.
It's a bit difficult to see, but the groomer is just behind this snowbank and is about to head into the hills.
The snow is a heavily packed three feet at my house, but well over six feet has fallen so far.
The Lunar Eclipse!  This is exactly what it looked like.  My camera did great!  Unfortunately you can't see the incredibly bright (for a full moon) Milky Way in the picture.  Definitely worth going out in zero degree temps at 1 am!
