Did you know that it is July? July! Already! Somehow the last two months have come and gone and I’m not sure I was even aware that they were there. Those of you who live in Scotland vicariously through this blog have probably felt displaced. Well, let me give you a quick photo-journal of the last several weeks to catch you up. I’ll dedicate this post to the Month of May.
Back in May, the school year officially ended. The historic red gown of the St Andrews undergraduate was donned everywhere in honor of the end-of-term festivities. Each year there is a final pier walk after one of the church services.
A group of friends and I made a one day trip to Glasgow for a free Train concert. We spent the day (in the rain) touring the Cathedral, the Necropolis, the contemporary art museum, and the cool architecture of the city center, before the concert at night. It was great fun!
On a brilliantly sunny and warm day, my friend Hauna and I hiked a 14 mile portion the Fife Coastal Path from St Andrews to Crail. It winds around the coast, always meandering between the sea and the fields, farms, and golf courses.
In May I also had my first visitor from the States! My dear friend Jane, one of the fearsome four female theology students at Gordon-Conwell, her husband and nearly two year old son made a trip to visit several people throughout the UK and fit in a couple days with me! It was wonderful to see her and have them here.
That’s May!
OH… and don’t be fooled. 95% of my time is spent actually studying. I just figure that you probably wouldn’t appreciate the pictures of that monotonous event nearly as much as some of these other ‘fun’ events.
Actually, wait one second. Lest I forget what I really spent my ‘free time’ on in May…
In May, about 80% of my time was spent studying. The other 19.5% of my time was spent reading the Harry Potter series. All seven books. Six weeks. Can we say empty stomach and baggy eyes? Not smart. But so good!!!!
surprised you hadn't had the harry potter experience before now...aren't they fantastic!?
