Amongst all other things, it is the place where I spend the majority of my awake hours each week: Monday through Friday, morning till night (or at least dinner time). It is the place where I read, where I think, and where eventually I will write for the next three years. I’m not sure how old the building itself is, but I know it was renovated within the last twenty years. It’s a lovely place to study, and nicer even than where I “live.”
A lovely short walk from my room, immediately adjacent to the cathedral ruins, open only to my ~30 PhD in Divinity colleagues (no professors or staff allowed), available 24/7, and mine for the next three years: it’s my study castle. And it has a cool blue door.

This is how I get my exercise each day. I’m on the top floor – nice for the view and the blood flow!

Roundel occupants have their very own garden to enjoy, perfectly maintained and groomed for us, the only ones allowed even to see it.

And every morning at the top of the stairs awaits my new best friend in eager expectation of my arrival – Duncan. We are getting to know each other very well already. Tune in next time for more details on Duncan himself.
