The Colors of Life

There are benefits and negatives to living in any location.  Long days vs. short days; mild winters vs. harsh winters; dry heat vs. humid heat; rain and flooding vs. no rain and drought; mountains vs. ocean; dense forests and fall colors vs. amber waves of grain.
Here in Scotland, the trade off is this… short winter days and long summer months; lots of rain but little snow; rarely hitting 80 degrees, but rarely dropping below freezing.  And the reward for it all is…
flowers.
Beautiful, vibrant, perfectly manicured flowers of all shapes and sizes, lining streets, lawns, window boxes and crawling up the sides of houses from March through November.  Today it’s the flowers that give these stone buildings and streets their class, a sense of royalty from times past.
