Konigstein’s Castle

This past weekend we finally had a sunny day—all day!  So my host took me to his childhood playground, the Konigstein im Taunus Castle.  It is now only a shadow of its former glory, but still maintains a sense of German pride in its elevated (literally) position.

And here are some of the views of Konigstein from atop the castle tower.  The photo below is of a villa which also looks out over the town and is my favourite building that I have seen in the town thus far.

You can see the villa in the upper-left corner of the town in this picture below.  And Frankfurt sits just beyond the hills.
