I forgot to mention the "fun" news from yesterday. As I woke up and processed through my normal routine, I came to find out there was no hot water. Now, this is nothing unusual here... it has happened countless times. The only difference with this one is that (after talking to locals) I found out the hot water is not off for only a day or two, but for the entire month! For this reason, I am very glad my remaining time is less than two weeks!
The other part of it is that yesterday I was finishing reading a book based in Southern Kentucky in the early 1900's. So as I boiled my water to do the dishes and wash our horribly dirty hand towels, I felt like a character in the book, with the exception that I was using dish soap and bleach, and well... who knows what they were using. The book is called A Parchment of Leaves, by Silas House, and I highly recommend it!
